Kimberly Jones is a 1993 UMN Morris graduate, whose professional career has included expansive senior leadership roles in arts management, community development banking, and corporate philanthropy. Currently, as vice president & director of community engagement-midwest with Self-Help Federal Credit Union, Jones supports the credit union's mission of "economic opportunity for all" by helping institutions and individuals align their banking with their mission and values.  

As an advocate for community development and environmental justice, Jones was recently appointed to the Credit Union Advisory Committee of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and is on the board of directors for Green America, serving on the JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) Committee. In addition, she was a PLACES Fellow with The Funding Network, which explored issues of equity in philanthropy, and the Food Systems Leadership Network, where she worked to help create access to business capital for food entrepreneurs of color.  

In the fall of 2023, Jones was proud to return to the Morris campus for the dedication of the William B. and Ida B. Stewart Hall, an initiative that she co-sponsored. 

Kimberly holds a BA in political science from the University of Minnesota Morris and an MA in arts, entertainment, and media management from Columbia College Chicago.
