Conroy was an active student while at UMN Morris. He served as student body vice president and president and participated in the student orchestral society. After Morris, he worked at the state capitol as a lobbyist for the University of Minnesota System and continues to advocate for Morris and University of Minnesota System funding priorities. Conroy earned a master of science at the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department (MSISyE), with a minor in technology management from the Technology Leadership Institute (TLI). He works as an IT consulting manager at Optum, a division of UnitedHealth Group, in Eden Prairie. As part of the on-campus volunteer recruiting team at Optum, Conroy has been working to increase hiring of Morris interns and alumni in the UHG Early Career Program (ECP). He is married to Lois Regnier Conroy ’94 and they have two children, Patrick and James, who are both taking PSEO classes at Morris this year.
