JD, University of Minnesota Law School

Mike McBride never intended to attend Morris. In fact, he quite vehemently argued against it when decision time came. But no decision did more to define who Mike became than losing that argument with his dad. He graduated from UMM in 2011 with a degree in English and Political Science, having completed the Honors Program. By the time Mike graduated, he had traveled the world with the Jazz Ensemble, hosted an early morning radio program on KUMM, and led the student government as President of the Morris Campus Student Association. To say nothing of the people he met along the way and with whom he continues to walk through life.

After graduating, Mike worked in campaign politics (briefly) and then completed his JD at the University of Minnesota Law School. Straight out of law school, Mike commissioned in the United States Navy as a Judge Advocate. During eight years on active duty, Mike specialized in military justice, working to uphold the highest traditions of our military. In 2023, Mike returned to Minnesota where he worked as an Assistant United States Attorney prosecuting narcotics and violent crimes. Recently, Mike entered private practice with Ciresi Conlin LLP.

Mike lives in South Minneapolis with his wife, daughter, and two big dogs.
